He completed his high school education at Ankara Anadolu High School. He earned a bachelor’s degree in finance from the Faculty of Business at Saint Mary’s University in Canada and a master’s degree in development economics from the Department of Economics at Dalhousie University in Canada. He worked at Polat Holding, Koç Holding, and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP). He wrote a column for the Cumhuriyet newspaper. He served as a lecturer at Başkent University. He has written seven books on economics and politics.
